VA Disability Benefits — calculators & state relief

VivMetric’s veterans pillar turns the public 38 CFR rating rules and the 2026 VA compensation schedule into tools you can run in your browser — free, private, and linked to the source. It pairs naturally with the military fitness standards already on this site.

Educational reference only. VA benefits math is federal and publicly documented, but your official combined rating and payment come from the VA rating decision letter. These tools are for planning and education only — not legal or VA advice.

Why this pillar

The military and veteran audience is one audience. A service member who checks their tape-test gate here may later file a VA claim — and the VA combined-rating math is exactly the kind of calculation a static page cannot answer for you. Our calculators do the iterative “efficiency” math (38 CFR § 4.25) and the bilateral factor (§ 4.26) live, so you see your combined percentage instead of guessing.

State property-tax relief is the other half: it is decidedly not federal, it varies jurisdiction by jurisdiction, and most veterans never learn they qualify. The 51-state matrix below summarizes who waives what — with explicit “verify with your county” flags where amounts shift year to year.
