What the four metrics measure

BMI estimates weight-for-height; waist-to-height (threshold 0.50) captures central fat relative to height; waist-to-hip uses WHO central-obesity thresholds (0.90 men / 0.85 women); body fat uses ACE ranges.

What does it mean if the metrics disagree?

Mixed signals are common and informative. A muscular athlete may have an overweight BMI but healthy waist and body fat. A normal-BMI person with a high waist-to-height ratio may have hidden central fat.
